Fazenda Boa Vista was bought in 1998. Since 2003, it has been working with specialty coffees and investing in worker education. Its total area is 96 hectares. The elevation varies from 1100 to 1300 meters. In the beginning work was difficult; the land was rough and full of rattlesnakes. Each year the owners planted some coffee and today there are 43 hectares with the following varieties divided into plots: catuai 99, topázio, obatã, catucaí, bourbon, tupi, mundo novo and acaia. The farm’s infrastructure is still under construction and processing is done at the farm. They participate in Certifica Minas, and seek to produce coffee with all the care it deserves, from planting to the bean’s arrival on the patio. The region where the farm is located is great for producing co ee, and now with the Geographical Indication and the help of AMSC (Alta Mogiana Specialty Coffee Association), the farm can now sell its coffee for a better price and add value to the product. The idea is go leave an excellent product for future generations.
